Vincentian Family Gathering Denver speakers
When the Vincentian Family gathers in Denver, October 23-25, to address the theme Going Deeper: building community and collaboration for systemic change around homelessness the keynote speakers will be:
Saturday – Mary and Mike McManus:
Going Deeper: building community and collaboration for systemic change around homelessness”
Both Mike and Mary have been deeply influenced by Dorothy Day and have lived at Catholic Worker houses. One of their favorite mottos is “Make too much, invite too many.”
Mike has been with the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless as an Outreach Worker since 2003. The mission of CCH is to “Create lasting solutions to homelessness.”
Sunday – Sister Vicki Perkins, SC Leavenworth
Problems with Collaboration and how to address them
Currently she serves as director of Welcome Central, a clearing house for those living in poverty and worked with various churches in Leavenworth, KS to open a homeless shelter this past December.
