strasbourg_federation_fi_enAfter the Second Vatican Council, in 1971 ten German and Austrian communities descended from the Strasbourg foundation became a federation. In 1994 the member communities of the Vincentian Federation (Germany) became affiliated to the large family of Vincent de Paul through an act of Reverend Robert Maloney, CM., superior general. Fourteen institutes now constitute the Vincentian Federation (Der Föderation Vinzentinischer Gemeinschaften) which are affiliated to the Congregation of the Mission and the Company of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul:

1. Congrégation des Sœurs de la Charité de Strasbourg (Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of Strasbourg)
2. Gemeinschaft der Barmherzigen Schwestern des heiligen Vinzenz von Paul von Zams (Sisters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul of Zams)
3. Kongregation der Barmherzigen Schwestern vom Hl. Vinzenz von Paul in Innsbruck (Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul in Innsbruck)
4. Kongregation der Barmherzigen Schwestern vom hl. Vinzenz von Paul – Motherhouse in München (Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul – Mother House in Munich)
5. Kongregation der Barmherzigen Schwestern vom Hl. Vinzenz von Paul Wien-Gumpendorf (Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul Vienna Gumpendorf)
6. Kongregation der Barmherzigen Schwestern vom hl. Vinzenz von Paul – Motherhouse in Fulda (Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul – Mother House in Fulda)
7. Kongregation der Barmherzigen Schwestern vom Hl. Vincenz von Paul Paderborn (Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul Paderborn)

9. Kongregation der Barmherzigen Schwestern vom hl. Vinzenz von Paul in Hildesheim (Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul in Hildesheim)
10. Barmherzige Schwestern vom hl. Vinzenz von Paul in Untermarchtal (Sisters of Mercy of St. Vincent de Paul in Untermarchtal)
11. Kongregation der Barmherzige Schwestern v. Hl. Vinzenz von Paul, Motherhouse in Augsburg (Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy v. St. Vincent de Paul, Mother House in Augsburg)
12. Kongregation der Barmherzige Schwestern v. Hl. Vinzenz von Paul, Heppenheim (Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy v. St. Vincent de Paul, Heppenheim)
13. Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul Mananthavady (Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul Mananthavady)
14. Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul Suwon
The Federation spread as a result of the missionary activity of some congregations to Asia, Africa and South America. The Mother houses of the Federation members are located in Augsburg, Freiburg, Fulda, Heppenheim, Hildesheim, Innsbruck, Mananthavady (India), Munich, Paderborn, Suwon (South Korea), Strasbourg, Untermarchtal, Vienna and Zams.
Each congregation maintains its independence. Shared goals include common spirituality and mutual assistance in the broad areas of education and work. These include the formation of postulants and novices.
