VFCAP Ethiopia Days 2-3
VFCAP Ethiopia – Day 2 – Blessed by two Vincentian Bishops
“It is the Vincentian nature to do charity for everyone who suffers” said Vincentian Bishop Varghese Thottamkara, CM, when he addressed the VFCAP Ethiopia participants on their 2nd day of training.
During the day, participants were invited to be re-rooted in their relationship with God, to understand the five Vincentian virtues and to consider how they serve as patterns of collaborative behavior which guide their relationships with each other and the poor.
They also underwent asset mapping exercises and an Individual Personality Strength Inventory in order to both appreciate their own gifts as well as to be more efficient servers in the field of God.
Vincentian Bishop Markos Gebremedhin, CM, also paid a visit to the VFCAP Ethiopia and encouraged the participants to undertake action in order to help the poor in Ethiopia.
During the celebration of the Mass for the Feast of Saint Joseph, celebrated by Abba Hagos Hayish, CM, participants meditated on collaboration from a biblical point of view.
VFCAP Ethiopia – Day 3
Project Management, conflict management and consensus decision making were the main topics on VFCAP Ethiopia’s third day agenda. Participants went through exercises and tests in order to develop the skill sets necessary to be effective collaborators in their ministerial situations and to reinforce their ability to deal with conflicts, to manage projects and to work together.
The mass was celebrated by Fr Manuel Ginete, CM, VFCC member who highlighted the importance of Louise de Marillac in promoting women and working on the promotion and the education of the poor.
