September 14, Indonesia – Each country does its best to embark on systemic change projects in favor of the less privileged and so for the first part of the last day for the joint VFCAP – SC Seminar, we gave the floor to our host – Indonesia – who shared to us two of their projects.  One was the Credit Union “Sinar Harapan” of the DC which Mr. Adji Panca Sartana beautifully explained.  The second was the CM Sanggar Merah Merdeka project given by Mr. Dadik Kusmadi.

It is hoped that this seminar will not only remain on the level of personal formation so Ana Maria Escano then continued with Module 5: Challenges to Collaboration and Systemic Change.  The primary challenge is getting started because collaboration and systemic change entail time and consistency.  Hence, in the afternoon, together with Pamela Mantuhac, they led the participants into the formulation of MY ACTION PLAN which will launch them into this great adventure!

We formally closed the Seminar with a Eucharistic Celebration presided by Fr. Gregorio Banaga, Jr., CM and each participant received a certificate and an SVP pin as a gift and a mission!  More bonding moments ensued after dinner with each country giving a cultural presentation.

It was not yet goodbye though because the next day, we left Pacet to go on a tour to Trowulan which is an archaeological site theorized to be the site of the eponymous capital city of the Majapahit Empire. The highlights of the tour consisted of the Sleeping Budha Statue or “Budha Tidur”, Candi Tikus – meaning “rat temple” – a ritual bathing pool complex, and the Trowulan Museum.  As Sr. Joan Nievales, DC of Thailand expressed: “We had a wonderful time learning… sharing… listening…exchanging of culture and being… in Pacet!” Thank you, Indonesia and thank you everyone!
