Over twenty leaders representing some 20 Vincentian Family organizations gathered as a Vincentian Family Leadership group in North America for the first time. This gathering represents a milestone in the awareness of how widespread and effective the charism of Vincent, Louise, Frederic, and Elizabeth has become in North America.

The primary focus of this intial meeting was to get to know one another and open up possibilities for collaboration especially in systemic change projects.

The group included representatives from the various provinces of the

  • Congregation of the Mission (3 Provinces)
  • Daughters of Charity (2 Provinces)
  • Depaul USA
  • Ladies of Charity
  • Sisters of Charity Federation (8 groups)
  • Society of St. Vincent de Paul
They formulated a mission statement and explored concrete possibilities for fostering systemic change collaboratively and in their individual branches.

The group came together in advance of the Annual Vincentian Family gathering in Indianapolis. The theme of this gathering is “Building Bridges Out Of Poverty”.
