The day Vincent discovered his direction in life

January 25th marks the 394th anniversary of the day Vincent discovered his vocation and direction in life. The Congregation of the Mission celebrates this as its “Foundation Day” but in reality the Congregation was not legally set up until 7 year laters on April 17, 1625. Visit the Vincentian Online Library for the history and related photos.

Some years go followers of Vincent and Louise were asked what saying shaped their direction in life. Read the responses in the Vincentian Online Library.

Can you remember a day when you discovered your direction in life?  Is it still fresh in your consciousness or has it faded? Was it early in life or later that you came to this understanding?

Happy Feast Day to all of my Vincentian brothers in Christ. Thanks for all that you do for those living in poverty and to support the rest of the Vincentian Family – esp. The Daughters!
