Self-adjusting eyeglasses for poorer countries

John Freund, CM
January 10, 2009

An Oxford physicist has invented “self-adjusting” eyeglasses to distribute to people in poor countries who cannot afford to see an optometrist and buy their own. Wearers use syringes to pump silicone oil into the lenses upon their first use until they reach optimum clarity. … at $19 a pair, Joshua Silver hopes his will help those in less fortunate countries see the world more clearly.

Wow, what a gift Joshua Silver has given to the poor. God bless you for sharing your wealth of knowledge to make this world a better place. I too hope in the future people will see that helping one’s neighbor is more important than making money.
    Bless you.

How can I obtain a few pairs of these glasses to take with me to eastern Sudan? We are working with the Beja tribe in remote areas of Kassala.
