Sister Dorothy Moore, CSM, received an Honorary Doctorate from St. Francis Xavier University at the Spring Convocation ceremony on May 5th, 2024.
The University writes: “We’re thrilled to honour Elder Sr. Dorothy Moore, a trailblazing Mi’kmaw educator and activist, with an honorary degree at our Spring Convocation. From pioneering the Mi’kmaq Studies Program at Cape Breton University to her influential work in education across Nova Scotia, Sr. Dorothy’s contributions have left an indelible mark on our community and beyond.
