National Assembly of SSVP in Indonesia, Celebrating 60 Years
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul met with their brothers and sisters from across Indonesia from 30 Jun to 2 July, 2023.
Over the course of three days they had a lot of sharing, exchanging ideas, and thinking about the future of SSVP. This year they celebrate 60 years of SSVP in Indonesia. The theme of the assembly was “Reactualization of the Vincentian Spirit in Our Works”.
The assembly was an opportunity to renew their energy, to think about how the world has changed in 60 years, and to think about how they can be more innovative in serving those in need. They also elected the new President of SSVP Indonesia, Anastasia Linda Rahayu, who will serve from now until 2026.
While the SSVP celebrates 60 years, the Congregation of the Mission is also celebrating 100 years in Indonesia. These two groups of the Vincentian Family in Indonesia work closely together and also with the Daughters of Charity. They have formed a broad network to reach out to those who are in need.
