The Epiphany Center, an addiction treatment center for women in San Francisco operated by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, was recently featured in the new Catholic San Francisco magazine.

The article focuses on their newest program, the Road to Resilience project but also covers the long history of the Daughters of Charity responding to the changing needs of San Francisco.

According to the article, the Road to Resilience project uses navigators to “find pregnant women or mothers of young children known to have a history of substance abuse through word of mouth, referral and even their own instincts as recovering addicts. Many are homeless, or if not, in abusive relationships.

The long-range goal of the project is the prevention of child abuse. By surrounding women with community-based resources, recovery, reunification and independence are more possible.”
