Each week a member of the Vincentian Family will share a part of his/her experience during recent months. From the depths of their heart these writers will present a message of hope because we are convinced that there are positive lessons to be learned from this pandemic..

This pandemic and the consequent period of distancing has been a time of reflection and meditation.

Because I am over 70 years old, I cannot go out, but I am the Assistant Coordinator of a Home for the Elderly and from afar, I control what is happening there. I share Vincentian reflections with the other Vincentian Volunteers and do this to maintain communication and to encourage these men and women who give of their time and talents. I participate in the virtual celebration of the Eucharist and pray the rosary every day. I call my friends who live in distant places or who are older and live alone and we encourage one another. I am also in a member of a virtual group of the Vincentian Family, where ideas are discussed and proposed to make our charism ever more present and effective. I share the conclusions of these gatherings with other Vincentian Volunteers.

I am not discouraged because I believe that God has a mission for each one of us and we must discover it now that we have the time.

Blessings to all of us who are still healthy … let us take care of ourselves. God does not forget us. God has created us and trusts us, and, in turn, we must trust God.
