Manifesto of the Vincentian Family in Ecuador, in Favor of our Brothers and Sisters in Nicaragua and Venezuela
Below we offer you a manifesto signed by the national council of the Vincentian Family of Ecuador that, assuming the challenges and hopes before the painful situation of some brotherly countries of Latin America, wish to contribute with their prayer and support in the solution of the conflicts that they suffer.
Dear brothers and sisters of the International Office of the Vincentian Family:
The Vincentian Family of Ecuador sends you an affectionate greeting in the love of Christ, together with our deep feeling of solidarity towards the brothers of Nicaragua and Venezuela, for the great challenges they are facing at the present time.
“I came to you in weakness and fear and much trembling, and my message and my proclamation were not with persuasive (words of) wisdom, but with a demonstration of spirit and power, so that your faith might rest not on human wisdom but on the power of God.” (1 Cor 2:1-10).
Faith comes from the power of God, from his love that transforms us, frees us, grants us authenticity, and destroys all evil in our hearts and leads us to live in his sanctifying grace.
For love of Jesus we persevere in the desert, in the love of our neighbor, recognizing that He is our only Lord and Savior. As his disciples, we are committed to Him and in Him, assuming as ours the meaning he gave to his life. And, in this way, in unity of prayer, we pray before the Blessed Sacrament so that our fraternal peoples may attain the grace and peace they need.
We pray for those who suffer, for those who mourn, for those who are in silence and can not free themselves from the bonds that bend them, that keeps them in bondage, so that they can transcend to a renewed life.
Our fraternal embrace for each one of the brothers of Venezuela, Nicaragua and of all the peoples of the whole world. We put ourselves in the tender hands of Most Holy Mary, so that through her intercession our prayer may come before her beloved Son.
Lord, when listening today to the cry of your children, let us turn diligently to their help “as one who runs to extinguish a fire”!
Blessed Easter of Resurrection!
National Council of the Vincentian Family – Ecuador.
