The joy of living together in unity.

Many years ago, with that very sentiment, the members of the Vincentian Family in Panama began the process of serving their sisters and brothers who were most poor. According to our historical records this process began in 1875 on the occasion of the arrival of the first Daughters of Charity, together with the Missionaries of the Congregation, to this country.

With the passing of time and in accord with the needs of the people, various services were offered … previous experiments were renewed and the Vincentian charism of love was extended to more and more people, thus broadening the spirit of communion and encompassing the various Branches that are present in the country (present in the various Provinces).

As a result of the impulse that has been given to the Vincentian Family throughout the world, here in Panama we have strengthened our bonds by creating a National Council with the various branches that are present in the country. We have done this with the hope of continuing to serve those persons who are most poor, and to serve them with joy.

At the present time we have strengthened the bonds of service by ministering together in Colon in common projects: blankets of love and the musical palace … enriching experiences that are only possible through team work, dedication and an enthusiastic commitment to serve the children and the young people of Colon.

As the gospel tells us, the disciples saw and then followed. We are called to give witness to the love and the joy of the gospel as we serve our brothers and sisters in different ways.

United in one Vincentian heart, your sister in Christ,
Sister Carolina Solózano, DC
