Vincentian Collaboration with Business at Christmas
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Canada has a nice collaboration with business going. Lynn L’Heuereux, through our “Send in News” link writes, “The owner and staff of Craft Beer Market donated $10,00.00 to Christmas Hampers to three cities in Canada. Calgary (head office), Edmonton (Alberta). and Vancouver (British Columbia). In Calgary they did an ugly sweater evening and everyone entering received a free featured drink and all they had to do for the drink was make a donation to Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Christmas. The staff donated their tips and raised $1800.00. They also delivered 13 hampers to Refugees, Immigrants and large families in need.”
This is an annual Vincentian collaboration with business, which has drawn more people into the remediation of immediate needs. The people at Craft Beer Market are excited, and it sounds like they were effective:
Our Head Office team will be Guest Bar tending to raise money for St Vincent de Paul!
St. Vincent De Paul is a non-profit organization that helps people and families in their time of need. The families that are affected are not your typical families. Some are homeless, some have a member who is sick or incapable of working, and others are simply down on their luck. Many are hard workers that have hit a time where they can’t provide for their families. All funds raised go to help families directly in our community.
We have committed to helping 10 families in each market. We need approximately $1000/family to meet their needs. We look forward to providing each of these families with an unforgettable Christmas and coming together as a team!
