The Vincentian Family is a movement made up of more than 160 institutions and some 4,000,000 people who follow Jesus Christ, serving the poor, as did St. Vincent de Paul, St. Louise de Marillac and many other believers who, over the last four centuries, have enriched the Vincentian charism.

Another amazing Daughter of Charity – Bridget Harley

When she died in 2010 Australia took note of another amazing Daughter of Charity – Bridget Harley. The Spirit led her to join the Daughters of Charity in Sydney in 1943. In 1966 she responded to what would be her life-time commitment to educate disadvantaged children took her to Ethiopia where she spent thirty-eight years. By the time Sister Bridget left Ethiopia in 2005, aged 86, she had set up more than 150 early childhood development centres.

Followers of Vincent know how he spoke to power on behalf of the poor. As one of the 16 sponsoring organizations (along with the Society of St. VIncent dePaul) the Ladies of Charity will be speaking out for Social Justice at the 2015 Catholic Social Ministry Gathering in Washington, February -7-10.
