depaulusaDepaul USA to Present on Medical Respite at National Conference
Sandra Guillory, Program Director at Depaul House, along with staff from The Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC), will be presenting at the National Health Care for the Homeless Conference in New Orleans in May 2014. The workshop, How to Leverage Community-Based Partnerships to Launch a Medical Respite Program, will look at Depaul and PHMC’s experience opening the first respite program in Philadelphia. The Respite is a demonstration project that will be co-located at Depaul House. The project will provide a safe and dignified place for homeless men to recuperate after being discharged from area hospitals.
As we prepare to open in January, Depaul has the following requests for community donations for respite residents: sweatshirts and pants, men’s slippers, toiletries, laundry detergent, and back packs. Contact Peggy Robertson at 215-438-1955 orpeggy.robertson@depaulusa.org to arrange a time to drop off items.
