BATHURST NSW:   The Anglican and Catholic Dioceses of Bathurst held a joint Commissioning of Prison Chaplains  to the Bathurst Correctional Complex on Tuesday 19th June 2012. The two Dioceses signed a Covenant to work together in any way possible towards visible Eucharistic unity and the Commissioning was a great opportunity for an occasion of joint worship.

Around 50 people attended the Service which was held in the Chapter House of All Saints’ Anglican Cathedral.  During the ecumenical service, the Reverend Tony Card and Mrs Geraldine Bowes were commissioned by their respective Bishops, entrusting to them the spiritual welfare of prisoners and staff in the Bathurst facility.  The Reverend Rod Moore, NSW Corrective Services Co-ordinating Chaplain, presented Reverend Card and Mrs Bowes to the Bishops and gave a short address.   (Found via the Australian CM site)
