Sister Margaret Beaudette, SC, has received final approval for two sculptures she created for the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi in Metuchen. The 5′ 2″ sculptures of St. Francis of Assisi and Pope John Paul II , who established the New Jersey diocese, were commissioned by Most Reverend Paul G. Bootkoski, Bishop of the Diocese of Metuchen for the cathedral. Reverend Monsignor Robert J. Zamorski, Rector of St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral, and Reverend Monsignor William Benwell, Vicar General, accompanied Bishop Bootkoski to De Paul Studio at Mount Saint Vincent on Monday, February 6 to meet with Sister Margaret. They closely examined the sculptures and were quite impressed by the painstaking detail Sr. Margaret was able to achieve.
