New York, Indianapolis and London… to list but a few of the Vincentian Family efforts at understanding the underlying cause and moving toward long term solutions for poverty.

New York: The Vincentian Chair of Social Justice Conference at St. John’s University, NY focuses on  Poverty Eradication and Intergenerational Justice: Stewardship, Solidarity and Subsidiarity by examining the conditions and the attitudes necessary for the advancement of the common good. Through the perspective of Catholic Social Thought and the Vincentian Tradition, we will view the role and responsibility of governments, civil society, businesses, and individuals to eradicate poverty and advance sustainable prosperity with intergenerational justice for all.

Indianapolis:  The Vincentian Family will gather in Indianapolis to focus on exactly that – moving beyond mantras to the effective action so dear to our founders. For further details view this Building Bridges Fact Sheet (PDF)

London: Vincentians in Partnership, formerly known as the Vincentian Millenium Partnership, is sponsoring  Poverty, Politics and Justice Day in London November 5 tackling Why should Christians be political and the Vincentian way of doing justice (Sr Maureen Tinkler, DC); Poverty in Britain today and other key issues. www.vip.org.uk/justice
