According to a search of the English international websites of some of the branches of the Vincentian Family in Japan the Daughters of Charity and the Congregation of the Mission have houses in Kobe City, Japan.

- Daughters of Charity Provincial House in Kobe-Shi, Hyogo-Ken is well south of the earthquake and tsunami. There are currently 8 communities and some 75 Daughters working in this province.
- The Congregation of the MIssion has a house in Kobe City.
- The Society of St. VIncent dePaul is part of it East Asia territory and there seems to be no further information available in English

My heart goes out to the Japanese people in their pains and sufferings due to the earthquake and the tsunami. I was so imprssed by the relatively orderly behavior of the Japanese during these days when many of them lost their loved ones and property. I was in Japan several times, a long time ago, and I can say that this must be a payoff of their disciplined life. Let us offer them our prayers and help. Fr.Rolando S. DelaGoza,CM
