How can you celebrate the first anniversary of Zafen?

John Freund, CM
March 2, 2011

Some people in Chicago will celebrate the one-year anniversary of the launch of Zafèn by enjoying a wonderful tasting of chocolate, wine and cheese, a silent auction and more! Even if you can’t trek to Chicago you can celebrate by making an extra donation or running your own silent auction. If you are unable to attend but would like to contribute to our efforts, please visit here to donate and write “Zafèn” in the Other field under the Details of Your Gift.

Through generous contributions from Chicago chocolatiers, cheese and wine entrepreneurs and DePaul University, 100% of funds raised will be donated to Zafèn. Zafèn is an interest-free microfinance initiative that enables contributors anywhere in the world to lend or donate to Haitian entrepreneurs and to support sustainable economic development in the Western Hemisphere’s poorest nation.

Reflection:

  • How prevalent do you think “Haiti Fatigue” might be after one year?
  • Have you considered forming “team” to support Zafen.
