Daughters of Charity host "Vincentian Laboratory

The Daughters of Charity (Poland)  organized  a three day workshops on Vincentian charism and spirituality. The Vincentian  Laboratory took place from Friday, October 15 to Sunday, October 17 in Provincial House at Tamka Street in Warsaw , the oldest location of Daughters of Charity outside Franc.

The event is part of their preparations to celebrate 300th anniversary of erecting autonomous Province of the Company in Poland in 2012.

The house at Tamka is. “Dialog of Charism and Time” is the theme of the workshops and “The Charism of the Founders – always and everywhere – a challenge for Vincentian Family for community of mission and charity” is its motto. Numerous embers of various branches of the Vincentian Family in Poland participate in the Laboratory – CMs, DCs, AMMs, SSVPs, VMYs, AICs.

The first “Vincentian Laboratory” was held a year ago (23 – 25 October, 2009) at the beginning of Jubilee Year fo 350th Anniversary of St. Vincent and St. Louise. The theme of the first workshops was “The Mission to visit sick and poor people in their homes”. As it was a big success Daughters of Charity supported by their Director, Fr. Kazimierz Malzenski CM, were determined to organize another Laboratory this year inviting more speakers and providing more time for discussion and reflection.

Events of three day long meeting include:

Friday, October 15,

* 3:00 p.m. 9 (CEST) – inauguration of the Laboratory in the Community Hall at the House;
* lecture – “Political, Social and Religious Situation in Poland in 17th Century” by Rev. Stanislaw Rospond CM, Director of “Nasza Przeszlosc” (Our Past) Vincentian Publishing Institute for Church history in Poland;
* community meeting – “in the Vincentian Family Circle…” holding presentation of participants, announcement of result of “Painting with Hope” competition for Vincentian Volunteers.
* Eucharist presided by Very Rev. Arkadiusz Zakreta CM, Provincial of Poland. He’s giving homily, too.

Saturday, October 16,

* Morning Mass – Rev. Pawel Holc CM, Provincial Assistant and Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Krakow presides and preaches.
* lectures by guest speaker, Rev. Luigi Mezzadri CM, Province of Rome, “Lay people at the source of Mission and Charity” and “Baptism and Charity in the spirituality of lay member of the Vincentian Family”
* lecture – “Vincentian charism – brilliant intuition of charity – the fruit of passionate dialog between God, Founders and poor people of vulnerable hearts” by Rev. Kazimierz Malzenski CM, Director of Daughters of Charity of the Province of Warsaw
* “Notes of Vincentian Symphony”, the discussion session in which a representative of each branch of the Vincentian Family taking part in the workshops will present a project, which in nearest future could be adopted as common apostolate of the whole Family in Poland.
* another meeting “in the Vincentian Circle..” – Fr. Luigi Mezzadri CM will be the guest talking about his Vincentian publications
* during the day participants will have discussions in groups

Sunday, October 17,

* Morning Mass – Archbishop Tadeusz Goclowski CM, Metropolitan-Emeritus of Gdansk is presiding and giving homily.
* lecture – “Timeliness of Vincentian charism in the service to the Church in Poland” by Archbishop Tadeusz Goclowski CM
* final interventions will come from some of the genuine guests, the hostess of the workshop, Sr. Stanislawa Kokosza DC, Visitatrice of Warsaw, and the Chronicler.
* Angelus prayer will conclude the workshops followed by community meal
