Dear Friends of Vincent & Louise,

Here is your chance to double your impact in Haiti. During the week of Sept. 27th to Oct. 3rd, the International Vincentian Family will match the first US$25,000 in loans contributed on Zafèn. Zafèn is FamVin’s online microloan site for Haiti created to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the deaths of St. Louise de Marillac and St. Vincent de Paul.

Just visit https://www.zafen.org/ and scan the PROJECTS tab for a loan project that interests you. Then create an account, use the PayPal link to lend funds and.  The International Vincentian Family will double your generosity during the week between September 27 and October 3. Loans begin at $25, and many groups have registered teams on the site to target fundraising to larger projects. In a few months, your interest-free loan will begin to be repaid, a rewarding experience because you will have enabled a Haitian to begin or improve a business and help transform a community.

In its first six months of operation, Zafèn has raised more than $100,000 in loans and donations to fund Haitian entrepreneurs and educators committed to creating sustainable economic change. The impact is evident through improving schools, nutrition and business development in communities throughout Haiti.

Please take a moment to visit zafen.org and join us on Facebook Sept. 27 to Oct. 3, 2010. Spread the word about Zafèn in your community, and encourage others to use this easy and secure website to empower Haitians.

Sincerely,
Rev. Robert Maloney, C.M.
