Get online fast! The International Vincentian Family is offering to match the first $25,000 in scholarships that online donors give to Frederic Ozanam School, which is run by the Daughters of Charity in Haiti. A $100 scholarship will cover tuition, school supplies and a uniform for one student for one year. The goal is to provide 100 students with an annual scholarship each year for five years.

In addition to giving individual scholarships, donors can also purchase packets of 5 scholarships, 10 scholarships, and 50 scholarships. Frederic Ozanam School is in the Marin area of Port-au-Prince and has a special focus on “Restaveks”, orphan children who frequently live in horrible conditions as domestic servants. The 100 students receiving the scholarships will include 64 at the Ozanam School and 36 alumni who will be attending two other schools this fall. Education will provide these disenfranchised children with a route to become literate while developing spiritually and learning basic life skills.

These scholarships are an exceptional opportunity to help some of the most oppressed of Haiti’s children and those living in the depths of Haiti’s poverty. The children are called “Restaveks” and are young children who, often orphaned or simply abandoned by parents who could not feed or support them, are working for other families as servants. The Daughters of Charity have taken them in and are educating them so that these most vulnerable can hope for a brighter future.
With the most generous matching program of the International Vincentian Family, your contributions will be *doubled* up to $25,000 as long as it lasts. So please, on behalf of these little ones, go to http://www.zafen.org.

    Warmly,
    Laura
