A Concise Guide to Catholic Church Management by the Vincentian Center for Church and Society published
by Ave Maria Press. After 15 years of working with pastors and ministry leaders the Vincentian Center, in collaboration with the Vincentian Research Fellows of the Peter Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University, authored this 256 page guide. It is a practical response to
the demands on Church leadership that have greatly expanded in the past decade.

Praise from the reviewers:

The Vincentian Center for Church and Society at Saint John’s University has
produced a book that is refreshingly reader-friendly, rooted in Gospel
principles, and eminently practical for any priest entrusted with parochial
leadership.

Most Reverend William F. Murphy, Bishop of Rockville Centre.

Now—along with the Lectionary, the Roman Missal, and the Code of Canon
Law—we have another valuable tool in the pastoral arsenal for responding to
the evolving landscape of Catholic ministry.

Rev. Richard Vega, President, National Federation of Priests’ Councils
The most comprehensive guide available for both experienced and beginning
Church leaders. This book provides the equivalent of a full continuing
education program for those serving in leadership positions, whether ordained
or lay.

Study of Religion, St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity, University of
St. Thomas.

This looks like a great new resource. The Vincentian Center produces such wonderful things, although there materials are often buried deep in the StJ servers. Look what I found: podcasts!

Also, Chuck Zech at Villanova U has a complementary program with some great links. DePaul U’s President Dennis Holtschneider, C.M., has been a presenter, and I had the privilege of being in their first “class.” One more: The National Leadership Roundtable on Church Management, led by Kerry Robinson provides incredible leadership on this issue.

Dear Aidan, Thank you for your support. Hopefully, many Vincentians will have the opportuntiy to use the book and related resources so that our Vincentian mission will be as effective as it is affective.
