In 2000, Apostolic Administrator of Astana, Kazakhstan, Rev. Tomasz Peta (presently, archbishop of Astana) contacted the Visitor of CM Province of Poland requesting priests to work in parishes of his diocese. Same request was addressed to Daughters of Charity. In response, first three Sisters from Province of Chelmno-Poznan arrived to Astana later the same year (2000). In 2008, first Polish Vincentian priest arrived to the parish of Shortandy. Another one joined him in 2009.

As for now, there are three communities of Daughters of Charity with three Sisters in each of them, and two Vincentian priests.

For more information on Polish Vincentian presence in Kazakhstan visit ADGENTES.MISJONARZE.PL website dedicated to foreign missions where Polish Vincentians are working now or were present in the past. The texts there are in Polish only. More picture galleries will be added there soon presenting everyday life of Vincentians in Kazakhstan, the land of re-evangelization
