New Visitatrix for Daughters of Charity, Province of the West

Sister Marjory Ann Baez was recently installed as Visitatrix of the Daughters of Charity, Province of the West.

Sr. Marjory Ann comments. “Our recent Provincial Assembly deepened our convictions about being innovative in our service, as well as being committed to quality life in community and being supported by a rich life of prayer.” “I am looking forward to working with the Daughters of Charity and those who collaborate with us.”

Prior to her installation, Sr. Marjory Ann served as vice president of mission integration for the Daughters of Charity Health System. She played a key role in the integration of vision and values into hospital operations and the community.

Raised in San Francisco, she entered the Daughters of Charity following her high school graduation. She received a B.S. in nursing from Marillac College in St. Louis, Missouri. She prepared for an elementary teaching credential at the University of San Francisco.

She served as assistant directress and directress of the formation program for seven years, and also as provincial councillor in both social ministry and formation for nine years. She then served at Seton Medical Center, Daly City, as Director of Mission Services and Community Outreach. She has also served as Vice President of Mission Services at St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood,California.

She replaces Sister Margaret Keaveney, who served as Visitatrix for the past nine years.
