Students Embody Vincentian Mission - Service Trips to Panama and France

St. John’s student-volunteers embarked on two very different service trips, each sponsored by the Office of Campus Ministry. For one group, which traveled to a small Panamanian village to fix houses, the trip was a time to get the hands dirty. For the other group, which journeyed to Lourdes, France, to bathe pilgrims in holy water, it was a time to rinse them clean.

It is so encouraging to hear about the dedication and appreciation of these Students for the Vincentian spirituality of work for those most in need, which will serve as their true souce of happiness and fulfillment of God’s will for each of them. Thanks for sharing this inspiring account.

Thank you for sharing this experience with the worldwide Vincentian Family. I am personally encouraged to realize that more and more young people are daily being attracted to the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul. I hope I’ll continue to realize that when I set out to evangelize the poor, I am the one who actually gets evangelized by them. Thank you again for sharing this wonderful experience!

The vincentian spirit is that of emptying onself for others in need as done by Jesus Christ and followed by St.Vincent De Paul. May all of us learn to do the same. May the good Lord bless those who practically serve by giving their time, energy, talent and the whole of themselves to and for others.

I appreciate reading your publication. I believe it is an inspiration to all of us.
