The General Curia of the Congregation of the Mission has passed on notice of a Traffiking In Women Information and Workshop Kit which is being recommended by the Union of International Superiors General based in Rome

“Trafficking” has been defined by the United Nations as the recruitment of people through deception or force for the purpose of extracting sexual or other services from them. One estimate of the number of people trafficked worldwide annually is from 700,000 to two million.

The Sisters of St. Francis (Philadelphia) had an excellent web page (http://www.osfphila.org/sp/justice_peace/trafficking.html) on trafficking which covers the many dimensions of this issue and leads to further resources.
