Sr. Carol Keehan, DC Named President of Catholic Health Association

Sister Carol Keehan, DC, has been named the ninth president and chief executive officer of the Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA), effective October 10, 2005. She will be responsible for all association operations, both at its national headquarters in St. Louis and its office in Washington, DC.
This area of CHA website provides information about Sr. Carol, the search process, and will be a source of information during the transition.

    Sr. Keehan made me proud to be a Catholic this evening as I listened to the television broadcast. Despite bullying by the host Raymond A., she made clear the benefit to those in need, of the health plans being debated in Congress.

    It was so refreshing to hear a strong catholic voice speak up for health reform. I saw the CNS article in our diocesan newspaper where Sr. Keehan pointed out how the current legislation will HELP PEOPLE and not use federal dollars for abortion.

    Our bishops have become so aligned with social conservatism and legal “correctness” that they fail to see the realities of everyday life that lead to abortions. It was wonderful to hear a moral, yet realistic voice out of the Catholic Church.
