SVDP Calls for Socially Inclusive Budget

SYDNEY, May 6, 2005 (catholicweekly.com.au): The St Vincent de Paul Society calls on the Federal Treasurer to make this year’s budget an inclusive social document. In his column in The Catholic Weekly, Owen Rogers, chief executive officer of the St Vincent de Paul Society’s State Council NSW/ACT writes – It must be a truly inclusive document that supports the hopes and aspirations of all Australians; a budget that makes provision for and enables the dignity of society’s most vulnerable and that puts in place a platform for acknowledging the growing number of poor in Australia.
