The Midwest Province of the CM features an article about the Association of the Miraculous Medal at St. Mary’s of the Barrens.”Visit the web site (www.amm.org) of The Association of the Miraculous Medal at Saint Mary’s of the Barrens and you will be greeted by the Spiritual Thought of the Week such as, “Love covers over all wrongs.” (Proverbs 10:12.)

“The mission of the group is clear: “We bring Mary conceived without sin to the Catholics of North America. She reveals God’s fatherly love and her own motherly concern.”

And the organization’s work is to invite members to greater holiness by attending to their pastoral and spiritual needs, forming them in the Christian life, and involving them in the apostolate of charity especially toward the clergy and the most abandoned. The National Shrine of the Miraculous Medal is the center of prayer.

“What this means in practice,” according to President Rev. Charles Shelby, CM, “is that the Association represents Mary as Mother of God and mother of all God’s children – all the brothers and sisters of Jesus. And there is a special kind of relationship between mother and child that helps people endure trials and difficulties, and it increases the sense of family between brothers and sisters.”
