Irish SVDP spends 100,000 Euros per day fighting poverty

VOP is alive and well in Ireland as seen by news releases that can be found
on the voice of the poor website at
http://www.voiceofthepoor.org/poverty_news.htm The annual report was used
as a platform for speaking out as a voice of the poor…something that we
can do as well.

You may also be interested in keeping track of the success of the country of
Thailand which has started an ambitious plan to try to erdicate poverty in
that country within six years.

Pope John Paul II recently spoke to representatives of the United Nations
food agency saying, “Hunger and malnutrition, aggravated by growing poverty,
represent a grave threat to the peaceful coexistence of peoples and
nations,” according to a Reuters story.
