Brother Peter A. Campbell, Administrator of the Vincentian Solidarity Office (VSO) , visited the Province of Slovakia on 1-5 May.The purpose of the trip was to conduct an onsite visit of the seminary construction project at the Provincial House in Bratislava. One of two floors which comprise the seminary block of the building complex is scheduled to open in September 2003 with 14 students for the Slovak Province and two priests as Vincentian formators. The students will live at the seminary house while doing their academic studies at universities in Bratislava.

The VSO will provide some assistance in obtaining the funds needed to purchase internal equipment for the seminary.

While in Slovakia, Brother Peter also visited St. John Gabriel Perboyre Internal Seminary in Banská Bystrica and St. Vincent’s Seminary for major seminarians in Bijacovce (which will move to Bratislava in September). Both of these formation houses currently have students from the Slovak Province as well as the Vice-Province of Saints Cyril and Methodius.
