A number of exciting vocation efforts for have been in the planning stages and are now ready to go (outlined in this newsletter). Ranging from College Spring Breaks to Vocation Discernment Weekends the idea is to bring as many young people into contact with us as possible promoting and encouraging Consecrated Life among the young. Please spread the word and web contact to those who might be interested in your area!

The Vocation directors from the Midwest, South and Eastern provinces (pictured above) have joined forces in brainstorming ways to share resources of materials and personnel in our vocation efforts (the Western provinces VD has been on sabbatical). The few times that we have met have already surfaced some great ideas and future planning that will begin to be realized starting this Spring. In addition to inter-provincial collaboration on Discernment and Youth programs, we are also working on a National CM Vocation Web site that will represent all provinces. Some very hopeful and exciting measures on which we will keep you posted.

Many people ask if the ongoing scandal in the Church has had a pejorative effect on vocation interest. Surprisingly, no. These last couple months have been quite active with young men seeking information on us. Most have come through our vocation web presence (ExploreTheCall.org) and VISION magazine. Lots of bites reflecting a great deal of interest. But, as we all know, the most lucrative process of vocation interest is in personal contact and invitation. Please encourage and invite! And be sure and publicize the web site.

Please let us know if there is a way that we can be helpful to you in attracting and inviting young people to consider a vocation as a Vincentian. All the best vocation programs and efforts are meaningless without your inviting young people to consider them. And may the Lord continue to bless all of us in our efforts.
