Vacations for the Needy and other projects of the SSVDP (Scotland)
Caravan Project:

This is a relatively new venture, which seeks to provide less privileged families with a holiday, which otherwise they could not afford. The Council owns a caravan, which local conferences can book for needy families. Due to the success of this venture, the Council is seeking to buy another caravan to meet the demand.

Ozanam Center:

Like many large cities, Glasgow has large numbers of homeless men and women – many of whom suffer from alcohol and drug related problems. Some also suffer from psychiatric disorders. The Ozanam Center is located in the city center and serves to distribute food and clothing to homeless men and women on Wednesday, Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons.

Furniture Project:

This initiative was set up to collect unwanted furniture and redistribute it to needy families across the diocese. The council currently lease storage premises in Street in Glasgow and operate 2 vans for the collection and delivery of furniture and household goods.
