The XI Assembly of CLAPVI was held in Curitiba from 21-24 October. The majority of the Visitors assisted at this assembly as well as representatives from the missions in Honduras, Panama and the United States.

A new Executive Council was elected for a period of three years: Gabriel Naranjo (Col), President, Simão Valenga (Cur), Vice-president, Gregory Gay (AmC), First Councillor, Alfonso Berrade (Per), Second Councillor, Emilio Melchor (Ven), Executive Secretary. The Assembly was held in Curitiba this year so that the members could be present for the beginning of the Centennial Celebration of the arrival of the Vincentians in Southern Brazil. The first confreres (from Poland) arrived there in 1903. On 25 October, Fr. Ignacio Fernández de Mendoza, Vicar General, presided at the Eucharist. This celebration, with the presence of the confreres from the province of Curitiba and the members of the CLAPVI Assembly, marked the beginning of the Jubilee Year for the province and the closing of the CLAPVI Assembly.
