Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands and the Congregation of the Mission Visit to the Mission. During the month of September, Fr. Victor Bieler, Assistant General for the Missions, visited the missions of the CM in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. He was in Papua New Guinea on two occasions (between 3 and 9 September and after the 16th), visiting the two confreres (one from the Philippines and the other from Colombia) who work in Port Moresby, in the diocesan seminary, collaborating as formators. Some 70 seminarians are preparing there for the priesthood. Later he was in Kiunga visiting the two confreres who work with the Indonesian refugees. Between 9 and 13 September, Fr. Bieler also visited the International Mission of the Solomon Islands where four confreres, all of different nationalities (Philippines, Ireland, Indonesia and Poland), work. These confreres have complete responsibility for the inter-diocesan seminary, which has some 30 students, doing a serious work of inculturating the formation of the clergy.
