Materials for a Vincentian Charism Retreat
On the occasion of the feast of Pentecost 2023, when we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit to the Church, a team made up of members of the Vincentian Family from different geographical and cultural backgrounds, and belonging to various branches of the Family, have published a guide for a personal retreat that can be done over the course of five days.
All members of the Vincentian Family, regardless of country, region or affiliation, are cordially invited to follow this itinerary:
Online retreats offer a fixed point for encountering God in everyday life, help in trying to talk to God and an incentive to clarify one’s relationship with God. Our Vincentian Family retreat is designed to lead you, the retreatant, into an experience of Vincentian spirituality.
The materials are currently available in eight languages: Spanish, English, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Dutch and Swahili. We hope to add other languages over time.
In addition to being a significant resource for deepening our charism as followers of Jesus Christ in the footsteps of St. Vincent de Paul, the retreat will give us the opportunity to meet some of those who have continued his mission over the past 400 years, both present and past, and to reflect on their own words.
Two booklets have been prepared for each language, with identical content: one in full color, the other designed to save ink and more suitable for printing on your personal printer.

This was created for individuals to participate in their own personal on-line retreat over five or ten days, five or ten weeks, or five or ten months. It also is a wonderful resource for many kinds of gatherings of those attracted to the Vincentian Family Charism. For example, each part may be used as an opening, reflective prayer experience for a St. Vincent de Paul meeting, or for faith-sharing with a group of people wanting to grow in the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac. It’s uses are a great as imagination will take it! You are encouraged to open your preferred language version and see for yourself!
