Journey Through Lent With Saints Vincent and Louise (March 20)
Today’s quote:
Each one of us, then, should try to integrate into his life, as far as possible, these four principles: 1) We should conscientiously carry out what is ordered and avoid what is forbidden 2) when there is a choice open to us in matters neither ordered nor forbidden we should choose the less palatable rather than the more pleasing 3) when something unexpected happens to us in body or mind, good or bad, we are to accept it without fuss as coming from God’s loving hand; 4) our motive for putting the above three principles into practice is that they are God’s Will.
Vincent de Paul (Volume: 13a | Page#: 434) Common Rules of the Congregation of the Mission, 17 May, 1667
What are the integrating principles of my life? Do the needs of my neighbor fit into them?
