Advent Reflections (Day 20)
Putting On the Virtue of Gentleness
December 16, 2022
St. Vincent told the community that people are won over much more by gentleness than by argument. This advice is especially relevant when we offer the gift of correction,1 whether the correction is done by peers or by superiors.
1Cf. Mt 18:15-18.

Let us pray
Lord, help me to remember as I offer the gift of correction, that those corrected are much more able to hear words spoken gently than words of stinging accusation.
Scripture
Let us therefore no longer pass judgment on one another, but resolve instead never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of another.
Romans 14:13
