Advent Reflections (Day 19)
Putting On the Virtue of Gentleness
December 15, 2022
Gentleness entails approachability, affability, warmth. These are especially important qualities in ministers. In this regard, St. Vincent encourages us to be confident that we can really change, citing his own personal experience. While he was of choleric temperament and, in his younger days, rather moody for long dark periods, he changed so much in the course of his life that all those who knew him later said that he was one of the most approachable men they had ever met.1

Let us pray
Change me, Lord! I surrender my ways, my thoughts, and my life to You, especially as I find You in the poor, our lords and masters.
Scripture
Service Well-Pleasing to God
Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.
Hebrews 13:1-2
