Sr. Brenda, a Missionary Servant of the Most Blessed Trinity, holds a Masters degree in Social Work from Fordham University. She has attended many post-graduate courses in the development and critique of group and systems and understanding systemic change. Her undergraduate degree is in Biology and Psychology.

Brenda worked for many years in Catholic Charities as a case worker, supervisor, regional director and as a Vicar for Social Ministry. She worked in Rockville Centre, NY; Greensburg, PA; Montgomery Al; and Alexandria-Shreveport LA. She was awarded the Bernadin Fellowship out of Catholic Charities USA and spent a year in the national office helping to develop Parish Social Ministry. Her research was in understanding how and if Diocesan clergy are formed in the social mission of the Church. This research took her to meet with clergy across the USA.

Brenda began work in a collaborative effort of the Cenacle Family in Stirling NJ. During these years she worked both nationally and internationally with religious congregations, Dioceses, staffs, national organizations. She facilitated congregational chapters, Diocesan gatherings, clergy convocations, parish staffs, and other lay groups. Brenda also worked with L’Arche in many countries.

Over the years, Brenda has worked across the US and Canada, and 30 other countries across the world.

Her most recent work has been within the Missionary Cenacle Family and with L’Arche international. This work with L’Arche has been in the development of a series of courses in Faith in Culture. This work, developed initially in collaboration with Gerald Arbuckle, PhD, a Marist priest in Australia is a focused look at how charisms are brought into cultures.

She is co-author with Loughlan Sofield ST of Developing a Parish as a Community of Service, and with James Gaston of Build a Life-Giving Parish The Gift of Counsel in the Modern World.
