July 4: Society of Saint Vincent de Paul’s International Youth Day
This year, the theme of the Society’s International Youth Day is “Young Vincentians celebrating the joy of service through social friendship,” and is inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical letter Fratelli Tutti. Therein, the Holy Father reminds us of the importance of “getting closer, expressing yourself, listening to each other, looking at each other, getting to know each other, trying to understand each other, looking for points of contact […]”.
In this regard, we would like to share two official letters:
- Special message to young Vincentian members throughout the world, written by the President General International, fellow member Renato Lima de Oliveira
- Letter to young Vincentian members, written by the International Vice President for Youth, Children and Adolescents, fellow member Willian Alves
We hope that these two messages will be widely disseminated among all the Councils and Conferences worldwide, especially among the youngest members of our Society.
