Official Comuniqué VMY Fifth General Assembly – Poland 2020
Madrid, March, 14 2020
To the National Councils and Advisors of the VMY,
Witnessing with Hope
Receive the heartfelt greeting of the members of the International Team of the Vincentian Marian Youth.
As you are well aware, the world is living in the midst of a difficult situation as a result of the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19). Many of you have expressed your concern to us with regard to this situation. After the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the presence of a pandemic, most International events have been cancelled or are being rescheduled.
With regard to our Fifth International General Assembly scheduled for July 17-21, 2020 in Bydgoszcz, Poland, we want to let you know that preparations have been steadily moving forward. The International Council, however, held an extraordinary meeting and has decided to reschedule the Assembly for the next year 2021. Within a few months we will be communicating to you the new date. Our priority is the health and the protection of our members and our participants and therefore, we encourage you to adhere to the health measures that each country is taking.
Let us continue to pray to our Mother, Mary and in our prayers, let us remember those persons who have been most affected by this virus. Let us make the health of the world one of our prayer intentions.
May our God and our Blessed Mother protect us all with their grace and blessing.
Yancarlos de Jesús Carrasco de los Santos Fr. Tomaž Mavrič, CM
