Lenten Reflection On Fasting, by Sister of Charity (Video)

by | Mar 22, 2019 | Formation, Sisters of Charity, Social Media

Recently the Sisters of Charity Federation posted a series of Lenten video reflections on prayer, fasting and almsgiving which are worth a second look in case you missed them. Here is an excerpt from the the talk on Fasting. Sister Rejane Cytacki, Sister of Charity of Leavenworth, generously shares some great ideas about fasting from “time-eaters”– those things that take our focus away from our prayer relationship with God. She also recommends a number of excellent books, listed below the video. Thank you to Sr. Rejane and the Federation for providing these videos!

Resources mentioned in this video:

  1. Prayer for Wholeness and Healing by S. Linda Buck, CSJ
  2. Keeping Vigil with the Mystery by Velma Frye on the Seven sacred pauses CD
  3. The Lenten Labyrinth by Fr. Ed Hayes
  4. Grace in Every Season by Catherine Doherty
  5. Open the Door by Joyce Rupp
  6. Redeeming Conflict by Ann Garrido
