Video or text?
I’m not arguing that we shouldn’t learn to write well, but video has its advantages.
What’s more, I’m not saying that being Vincentian is a business, but we can learn a lot from business and professional practice.
People from the business world hear about St. Vincent and are amazed at his life and his acumen. Jo Tango, a businessman who says he has “friends” in the Vincent de Paul Society, penned a short appeal after listening to a homily about St. Vincent. He called it, “An Entrepreneur from the 16th Century.” They see us. Do we see them, and their abilities as a window on how to be better?
So listen to this:
Video not only adds value to everyday business communication, it personalizes internal communications in a way that can have a big impact on corporate culture. New tools provide innovative ways to communicate with your workforce. For example, instead of sending the team your usual quarterly business newsletter, why not send a video message? Visual content is more personal and easier to absorb, it brings the leadership team up close and personal with the team as a whole, and employees are more likely to enjoy, and actually engage with, the content when it isnât another block of text.
