Virtual Meetings and Collaboration
On their Facebook Page, the Latin American Coordinating Team of the VMY writes, “Today, we ask that you would have the intention in your prayers for the First Virtual Meeting the year of the Latin American Coordinating Team: that plans and decisions are made according to the will of God ….” This is an indication of the possibilities for technology.
Virtual meetings are not the future. They are the present. Applications like Skype, Oovoo, and Google Hangouts-on-Air can help your group complete their work objectives while controlling expenses. By the way, sometimes “face-to-face” meetings are indispensable, but you can achieve a lot in a virtual meeting: planning, training, review of documents (using Google Docs or Zoho) with live commentary, conferences …. Your creativity is the limit!
Many of these technologies offer: shared applications, e-learnings, multiple cameras and audio, desktop sharing, session recording, customizing chat rooms, transfer of control of the keyboard and mouse to a particular person or all participants (thus allowing them to manipulate the document is currently open on the desktop presenter), change of presenter during the meeting, notes and drawings tools, whiteboard, and more. Technology can improve your collaboration. FamVin has its own service called, “VirtualVins,” and we’re ready to help you.
And remember this is the Year of Vincentian Family Collaboration.
