Sister Denise Bauman, Superior General of the Sisters of Charity of Strasbourg is advanced to the grade of Chevalier of the Legion of Honor. Sr. Denise has participated in several General Assemblies of the Congregation of the Mission and meetings of those in charge of the members of the Vincentian Family.

Decree of July 11, 2008 concerning advancement and nomination:
By decree of the President of the Republic dated 11 July 2008, given with the agreement of the Prime Minister and the other ministers and sent to the Grand Chancellor of the National Order of the Legion of Honor, noting that the declarations of the Council of the Order regarding these present advancements and nominations are in conformity with the laws, requirements and rules, the following are advanced or nominated to take their place in the rank on the date of their reception :
The Ministry of the Interior, Overseas and territorial groups:
To the rank of Officer: Bishop Claude Jean Pierre Dagens, Bishop of Angouleme, of the Academie francaise. Chevalier since June 25, 1999.
To the rank of Chevalier: Sister Denise Marie Bauman, honorary Superior General of the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of Strasbourg [Lower Rhine]; for 48 years of professional activities and religious life.
I forgot to mention she is at least the second member of the Vincentian Family to receive this honor in recent times.
