In the unique setting of St. Peter’s Square in Rome, today 14 October more than 10,000 members of the Vincentian Family from all over the world have had a very special encounter with Pope Francis.

Our day began in the morning, when lay and consecrated members of the many Vincentian branches began to congregate, hoping to receive the message that the Holy Father wanted to address to all.

Testimonies, messages, songs, as well as the presentation of the Famvin Alliance against homelessness and the Vincentian film festival, preceded the arrival of Pope Francisco, around 12 o’clock in the morning.

In the next few days we will post all the messages and interventions on famvin.org. Until then, follow on Facebook and Twitter, and we invite you to live again this great moment of union and fraternity:

Oh, if only captioning was available for the Papal broadcastno captioning. For shame.

Yes, it would have been nice. But, fear not, we will be publishing all the talks and interventions as we get them!

Wow!When I saw the video and images of the event on October 14, the enthusiastic crowd, the orderliness of the program emceed by a Filipina, and the love for our Vincentian charism and spirt behind every movement, expression, noise, chatter, and excitment, I knelt in my heart to thank God for the extraordinary blessing of belonging to the Vincentian family! What a great blessing, and yet how little I have given back so far. I learned so many things watching the videos during the Summit. How I hope I can have copies of the events and of the talks. Maybe, this is a pipe dream, but I can see what I can do on my own. I am one D.C. doing my best to be earnest in the formation of future Vincentian missionaries in my school, here in the Philippines. And I have high hopes, after our recent centennial anniversary characterized by boldness and creativity in the service of the poor in our humble capacity. I praise the Lord for making me a Daughter of Charity.
